IMMERSIVE 3D HOLOGRAPHIC PROJECTIONS

"Holographic illusions are always the sweet spot between a nice trick and an unspoken agreement between us and the audience; they believe in an illusion as long as I'm doing my best not to give away the trick."

- Philipp Contag- Lada

In essence, 3D holographic projections are made with animated images and videos projected from a laser projector onto a transparent material such as tulle, voile, or the patented hologauze. The absence/reduction of lights combined with the transparent material makes the projected images appear as 3D holograms. The use of 3D holographic projections is a medium for immersing the audience into a "replica" of the dreamscape without actually having to go there. By no means are 3D holographic projections intended to replace humans. Instead, they act as a bridge for audiences to be immersed in experiences beyond the limits of human bodies and logic. It is important to note that there are currently no true holograms for use on stage. Thus, 3D holographic projections on stage are an optical illusion and solely exists in the eye of the viewer.
